Have you ever watched a professional chef slice a cucumber? Perfectly thin slices. Every single cut a precise copy of the one before it. And the entire job is done in the time it takes for you to walk into your kitchen and open up the knife drawer.
Mando Chef
We have a way for you to be able to slice like a chef, right in your own kitchen, with no need to go to culinary school, or even to study Knife Skills 101.
We call it the Mando Chef. You’ll call it amazing. With it, you can make the fastest work of any kitchen cutting task: to slice, dice and even create wavy or textured cuts—all in nine different thicknesses, two julienne widths and more.
Mando Chef comes with three parts that are easy to use and clean. First is the food guider—the safety barrier between your hands and the blade. Next is the blade itself, a V-shaped attachment for smooth cuts and a wavy V for crinkle cuts. The body of the Mando Chef stands securely on your countertop while you use it. And when you’re done, it all folds down for easy, compact storing.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to create some of our most popular cuts:
The Julienne:
- Slip in the v-shaped flat blade.
- Adjust to your desired thickness.
- Twist the triangular dial to 6 or 9, which will make the julienne blades appear.
- Place your fruit or vegetable on to a sturdy surface. Grab the food guider and press it on to the food item until the red top pops up. This will mean that your food is secure in the food guider.
- Slice by starting at the top moving the food guider downwards and then doing back and forth movements on the slicer, repeating until you’ve finished.
Tip: For perfectly square juliennes, use settings of 6/6 or 9/9 when adjusting the thickness and the triangular dial
The Diamond Dice:
- Insert the v-shaped flat blade.
- Adjust to the right thickness.
- Twist the triangular dial to 6 or 9, which will make the julienne blades appear.
- Grab your food guider with the foodstuff attached to it.
- Start from the bottom and slide the guider upwards. Once you’re at the top, turn the food guider 45° clockwise and slide back down. Repeat until you’re finished.
The Waffle Cut:
- Slide in your v-shaped wave blade.
- Select the thickness you would like.
- Take your food guider which has the foodstuff attached to it.
- Start from the top of the slicer and slide down, then slide back up to the top. Then, turn 45° clockwise if you’d like a diagonal waffle cut, or 90° if you’d like it straight. Then, slide down again and slide back up, turning anti-clockwise this time. Repeat by alternating between clockwise and anti-clockwise.
